DeWitt Hardy 6/25/1940 – 7/8/17
A single life is not so singular that it is only one man living it.
I was incredibly lucky to have parents who were sophisticated people with knowledge and taste. They befriended Ed Betts when I was young, which gave me the chance to learn fundamental watercolor very early.
My high school art teacher, Williams Moos, was a wonderful snob, as are many of my friends.
A single life is a collection of many. Some of you have kept me alive, some have given me money for my scribbling, and some have yelled at me to stop horsing around and get to work.
I am trying.
